Country Superstar Martina McBride made a Midwest trek over the weekend as part of her One Night theater tour and sold out all three shows. The powerhouse vocalist shared stories, favorite songs and more with packed houses at the Shooting Star Casino (Mahnomen, MN); Surf Ballroom (Clearlake, IA) and Honeywell Center (Wabash, IN).

Wanting to share a special experience with her fans, McBride also took to Twitter for setlist ideas and giveaways, providing yet another way to connect. Just before the Wabash, IN show, McBride helped make a special moment for a mother and daughter, gifting them tickets to the concert.

McBride is not only helping create memories for the audience, but is experiencing them herself. “I love performing in places with history where you can almost hear musicians from the past. Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and The Big Bopper played their last show at The Surf Ballroom where we were on Saturday so I wanted to perform the Buddy Holly classic, "That'll Be The Day," said McBride. The show was over two hours long and earned her two encores.

Throughout most of the summer, she will engage with fans during the One Night tour, but on May 27, McBride will head to Indianapolis, IN to sing the national anthem at the 96th Indianapolis 500. A couple of weeks later, on June 10, she will headline the CMA Music Festival’s LP Field show in Nashville. Upcoming dates are listed below and the full schedule is available via www.martinamcbride.com.

    May 2, 2012 0 Comments

One of Greg Bates' biggest dreams came true Friday night (4/27), as he took the stage at the historic Grand Ole Opry to make his debut. He performed his new single, “Did It For The Girl,” which he co-wrote. The song was the second most added single at radio the week of its release with 29 adds, just behind Superstar Keith Urban.

“I have always dreamed of playing The Opry. Just to stand in that famous circle where so many legends before me have performed was an absolutely amazing experience,” said Bates. “Thank you, Pete for the incredible opportunity.”

The crowd was full of family and friends, all supporting the Nashville native. He dedicated his second song of the night, “Brothers” to one very special guest, his brother, who he wrote the song about.

“Did It For The Girl,” is now available at iTunes and can be purchased here. A full-length album is expected later this year.

Martina McBride and Train's Pat Monahan to Perform "Marry Me" at 47th Annual ACM Awards

    March 27, 2012 0 Comments

The Academy of Country Music announced today that Martina McBride, along with Train frontman Pat Monahan, is scheduled to perform her new single “Marry Me” on the 47th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS. To celebrate the message of the song, McBride and Monahan will perform the duet during a very special moment in the show when a couple will get married live onstage. The show, which honors country music’s top talent as well as the industry’s hottest emerging artists, is produced for television by dick clark productions and will be broadcast LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 8:00 PM live ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network.

For the first time in ACM Awards history –and perhaps any awards history– a live wedding ceremony will take place onstage during McBride and Monahan’s duet of “Marry Me,” McBride’s current single from her latest album Eleven. The song was coined by Grammy Award-winning artist Monahan and originally released in 2010 as the third single from Train’s chart-topping fifth studio album Save Me, San Francisco.

McBride personally selected the lucky recipients of the onstage nuptials. Couple Christina Davidson and Frank Tucci thought they would never find love again. In July of 2009, Frank lost his wife, Danielle to thyroid cancer and in that same year, Christina lost her husband, Paul, in a tragic drowning accident. As a way to deal with the grief of losing her husband and raising her two sons Stephen and Paul on her own, Christina started a support group for young widows and widowers in Washington Township, N.J. where she met Frank. Slowly their friendship blossomed into love as they bonded over their shared views about the challenges of single parenthood and the struggles to keep the memories of their spouses alive. Their wedding will mark a new chapter in their lives, an intimate moment which they will graciously share onstage. The bride will be wearing an Oleg Cassini gown as she recites her vows. Fans can also follow Christina and Frank along their journey to the chapel at www.ACMwedding.com.

The Band Perry's "If I Die Young" Certified Quadruple Platinum

    March 6, 2012 0 Comments

On the heels of celebrating a recent two-week #1 with their Gold-certified single, “All Your Life,” and a Platinum debut album, the excitement continues this week for The Band Perry. The RIAA has certified their #1 smash, “If I Die Young” Quadruple Platinum for sales exceeding 4 million. The breakout hit is the only single from a debut album in the last 18 months to achieve this status and has sold more copies than any other Country artist in the same timeframe.

The irony of the title and the song’s enduring success are not lost on the sibling trio. “"We are honored by this acknowledgment and thankful that so many of you have connected with this song," said Kimberly Perry, who was honored as the song's author with the 2011 CMA Award for Song of the Year.

The 2012 ACM Group of the Year nominees will host the upcoming GAC television special, highlighting the 2012 ACM New Artist of the Year contenders. Just last year, The Band Perry was named both the ACM and CMA New Artist of the Year and earned the CMA Single of the Year and the CMT Music Awards’ for Breakthrough Video of the Year. Previously they garnered GRAMMY, TEEN CHOICE, AMA and ACA award nods.

“Each time the bar is set, it seems that The Band Perry surpasses it! Selling over 4 million downloads on just one song is a huge accomplishment. This extremely talented group is remarkable and we’re thrilled to have them as part of the Republic Nashville family,” said Republic Nashville President Jimmy Harnen.

The Band Perry is currently touring as a special guest on Brad Paisley’s VIRTUAL REALITY WORLD TOUR 2012 as well as headlining their own dates. Their next up-tempo single, "Postcard From Paris," is going for immediate airplay at Country radio.
